Riarob from Aesthetic Elevation Interviews Me!!!!!

The Sit Down – Leanne Woodley

Style Maven in the Making!

“Style speaks to you before you even open your mouth.” ~ Leanne Woodley

As I was languishing through my technical problems in June, I constantly thought back to my interview with DC stylist Leanne Woodley. Would it still be relevant after going through such an ordeal? Just like style itself, Woodley’s take on her craft and style in general kept this interview as fresh as a new pair of shoes.

I first met Leanne during her days at Lettie Gooch Boutique in DC. Since striking out on her own, she has expanded her stylistic stylings to a blog and plans for an online store/boutique, Styles by LC (LC stands for Louise Clemmence, Leanne’s grandmother). Check out the ultra fashionable Leanne as she sits down to talk about…

Her style background…

Having always been an avid lover of clothing as well as vintage and thrift store shopping, I consistently found myself dressing and redressing people in my mind. It just came naturally to me. I received formal training at Marymount University where I majored in Fashion Design.

On leaving Lettie Gooch to venture out on her own…

I loved working there. Theresa (Watts) taught me so much. It was such a great learning experience to watch someone build their business from the ground up. I cherished every moment of it but it was time to move on. The boutique was a starting point for me to branch out.
