John Hughes Dies at 59


John Hughes, director of Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off just to name a few, has died today from a heart attack while taking a walk in central park. Hughes wrote movies exploring the stresses of people older and younger than teenagers as well. Breaking boundaries through comedy. Hughes can be credited for the creation of the archetypal American high school, his classic films popularized the style and feel of teens in the ‘80s. What Hughes brought to the screen didn’t just influence trends at the time it still continues to trickle into fashion to this day.
