My Black is Beautiful - Chris Rock's "Good Hair"

If you are a black woman in America you are familiar with the term "good hair" and "bad hair" and all of its splendor. Well ladies Chris Rock has ddecided to take it on and turn it into a documentary. Featured at this years Sundance Festival as a smash hit, Chris Rock goes inside the beauty salon asking women how they feel about their "kinks" and the history behind the the term "good hair." Now ladies, you know how we feel about ourr hair, before stepping out we make sure that every strand is in place. Whether its natural, relaxed, or weaved you know we must step out looking our best. Its crazy to think that this term still follows us, but as long as we give it power it will always remain with us. Now I know all us at least once wore a T-shirt on our hair as a child, pretending we had long beautiful head like Barbie, not realizing our kinks were just as fine. My sister went through her face of relaxing her hair until she could longer stand the maintenance, she grew it out with braids and then one came to me one day and said "cut it" she has now worn her natural hair for almost a year and to me looks beautiful either way. So I ask ladies I ask what type of hair do you think you have and is your black beautiful? Are you proud of what the good lord gave you or would you rather tame it to your liking. In my opinion either way the way a black woman styles her hair is beautiful, a fan of the relaxer since my first "Just for Me" perm I am not ashamed of my kinks but I also like my ends to be tamed for this period in my life. Now lets all face what we love so dearly or even what we are ashamed of and support Chris Rock in his tribute to our hair.
