Designer of the Week: Rakiyt Zakari of Original David

So the first time I came across Rakiyt I was volunteering for D.C.'s own Fashion Fights Poverty and she was one of the featured designers. Since then I have been looking for her pieces until last night, not sure what made stumble onto the FFP site. It could have been the anxious insomnia but anyway I found her and her Original David all hand made clothing line, offering you men and women shirts, scarves, and bags. Very different from what she presented a couple years ago but fresher than ever. With the Fela Kuti inspiration I fell in love with all the pieces, you must check out the site and continue to follow Rakiyt Zakari. And I always say support your local designers
