Not sure how I feel about this one!!! Steven Klein recently shot French Vogue's super model supplement for their October issue. There is not much I can really say about it but GASP!!! I was without words when I first saw this, as a African American women I was offended and appalled. No matter how much the black race has overcome it still seems like we haven't come haven't come far enough for things like this to cease. As a stylist I see the creative direction but think that if the purpose was to portray a darker model they might as well have called my girl Naomi....wait let me be honest and not reader friendly for a minute, the concept of a white model in black face is a shitty shitty mess honestly. Her complexion is off and some what uneven. Steven Klein is an American photographer I would except him to know better, but at the same time assuming only makes and ass of me. People your opinions please.
