I know that I have been distant for awhile...did you miss me? But while away I got a chance to chop it up with handbag designer Rebbecca Robinson of Psnob Handbags and find out how she got started as a designer and the future of Psnob handbags. I couldn't believe the bag when I first saw it, this bag is truly a must have piece.

How did you get started on your journey as a designer?
My journey as a designer was never really a premeditated one; I have been an artist and loved all aspects of art since a young age. In college I earned my associates degree in fashion design at Bauder College in Atlanta. I later went back to school and studied visual communication at Central University to focus on all aspects of art. I never had set on plan on what direction of where I wanted land in the art industry.

How did you come up with the concept for handbag
Bored while living in Philadelphia, I began painting again and channeled all of boredom into my art. Not sure how I came up with idea but I decided to remove my painted canvas from their frames and began sewing the into different handbag patterns. It wasn‘t until a mock photo shoot and cold weather that I realized that the canvases turned handbags would need more to protect them. It took a couple years and a lot of experimenting and burning before I came up with something that was just right as my secret coating. After a couple years (Atlanta 2006/2007)of seeking someone that would be able produce the handbag with the coating, I finally met a contractor to produced a prototype bag with coating. When the prototype arrived I waited at least 2 days before I could look at it, but the final product was amazing.
What year was your hand bag born?
The first line of Psnob handbags (clutch bag) was created in March 2008.
Who is your target market?
I originally targeted the handbags towards women 25+ with expansible amount of money so that it would sell as a higher end bag. I have since changed and would like my handbags appease to all women of different markets. I want my product to be a piece of art that a women will treasure forever regardless of their of how much they can spend. I will soon be launching a wristlet collection, my target date is for late November 2009
What sets your handbags apart from the rest?
My handbags are a one of a kind piece with longevity, something that a women would be proud to wear. Every handbag is personalized and touch by me.
What is your take on the handbag industry right now and where does Psnob fit in?
Giving the masses another option of style .The market is very saturated and can often times begin to look the same. At least with the Psnob handbag and you will know that you have a one of a kind piece.
What is in the future for Psnob handbags and where can we purchase them?
The future for Psnob is endless. Eventually I will have Psnob handbags in every shape and style. As well as a step further, licensing the name and patterning with different companies to create different Psnob concepts. Its not just about the bag but about the art as awhole.

Who is favorite fine art artist?
I have a lot of artist that I love but my all time favorite is Wassily Kandinsky. I feel like I really connect with him as artist.
Who is your current muse?
My daddy ….he is my number one fan!!!!!
