As a child I watched my mother prepare her beauty each day before she enter the hustle and bustle of life. She always made sure that her lips were painted red and nails as well, my mother has always had a classic but chic style. As I watched her I knew that when I came of age I would always have my lips painted. My color of choice has never stayed the same, I started my journey with make-up in middle school. In eight grade I started with a chocolate brown by Lancome then graduated onto eye eye shadow's, that didn't work as well as I liked so went back to my best asset, my lips. Wore lip gloss for a long time before I went back to my beloved lipsticks. After high school I stepped in the shoes of the women before me and painted my lips red then fuchsia, and now my signature Barbie pink.
With fashion and style ever changing, make-up will as well. During ancient Greece the red lip was only worn by prostitutes, but as style would have it the red lip went from slums to the elite. You now see women wear colors that they normally wouldn't wear or thought would be too risque before. A lip color speaks loudly for what type of woman you are, so I ask ladies and to all my beautiful drag queens what lip colors inspire you and make you powerful?
